You hate to see this kind of news break, but I’m afraid it’s likely not going to stop anytime soon. Though we’ve seen high travel costs and logistical problems derail metal tours in recent weeks, Anthrax’s cancellation of European dates earlier today is likely the biggest ticket to succumb to such problems. The tour was supposed to start on September 27 in Birmingham, U.K. and end in Milan, Italy on November 4, but will instead come to a close on their final U.K. date on October 8 in London. According to a statement posted to the band’s social media channels, the cancellation was largely out of their control. “Sadly due to ongoing logistical issues and 2022 costs that are out of our control, we have no other option but to cancel the European leg of our upcoming 2022 tour. We will however be coming to the UK as scheduled. Metalcore band Currents are back with a new song and accompanying music video, “The Death We Seek.” Today’s release marks the band’s return to the spotlight and their first new music since 2020’s The Way It Ends . Vocalist Brian Wille said the inspiration for “The Death We Seek” stems from the different paths we all take in life and the result of our choices. “‘The Death We Seek’ is about the weight of our choices and our responsibility for their outcomes. The video follows two individuals attempting to stop a looming apocalypse, only to be sabotaged by forces beyond their control or understanding. During an appearance on Eddie Trunk ‘s Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk radio show, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor was asked the big question: what does Corey Taylor think about the Pantera reunion? There are some aspects of death metal that make it stand out among the other metal subgenres. Fast and aggressive music, pummeling drums with vicious blast beats, gory album covers, and lyrics detailing scenes of death, hate, anger, violence, and so on. On this week’s The MetalSucks Podcast , Bloodbath and Paradise Lost frontman Nick Holmes said he sees the lyrics he writes as a sort of means to an end — that they’re there to support the music more than always having to tell a particular story. “If I write a line, if I can come up with a clever following line, I’m kind of happy with that. It doesn’t necessarily have to make any real sense for me. I’ve always been about lyrics as a spur of the moment kind of thing. For me, it’s the part or section of the song where if the words are right for that song it enhances what you’re hearing and makes it even more powerful. Not content to hang it up after their tour with Anthrax and Black Label Society came to an end on Sunday, Hatebreed is extending its 20 Years of Perseverance tour by adding even more dates to the long line of dates already listed. Speaking of the excitement of heading back on tour to commemorate such an important record in the band’s life, frontman Jamey Jasta said the longer tour feels right for the occasion. “I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since the Perseverance  album hit. We’re overdue for a headline tour so these shows will be ones for the ages. Well, today we finally know at least three dates that Pantera will be playing thanks to the organizers of Knotfest Colombia, Knotfest Brazil, and Knotfest Chile. According to the posts, featured below, Pantera will be playing alongside other metal titans like Judas Priest, Venom, and Sepultura. Former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar and his supergroup The Circle have plenty going on right now as they prepare to release album number two, Crazy Times , but that doesn’t mean he isn’t working on new music.
